DriverApp Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DriverApp accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when drivers, dispatch teams, owners, and other authorized users use the DriverApp mobile application and related support features.
1. Scope and commitment
DriverApp is intended for logistics, dispatch, fleet, and job operations. We design the app to support legitimate operational use, respect user privacy, and align with applicable laws, platform rules, and community standards, including Google Play user data requirements.
This policy applies to the DriverApp app, the in-app disclosures shown before permission requests, and the related backend services used to authenticate users, store job records, upload job images, and support driver location sharing.
2. Information we collect
3. How we use information
- Authenticate users and maintain secure access to DriverApp.
- Create, update, sync, and display job records and fleet activity.
- Attach GPS data to job start, process, completion, and breakdown events.
- Provide optional live driver tracking when a user turns on location sharing, including background location sharing where permitted.
- Upload job images and extract text from them to reduce manual entry.
- Support offline work and later synchronization when connectivity returns.
- Deliver real-time operational updates, dispatch information, and support services.
- Protect the app, investigate errors, maintain service integrity, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Location data practices
DriverApp accesses precise location because location is a core operational feature of the app.
- Foreground location: used when a user starts, processes, completes, or reports a job so the job record can include GPS coordinates.
- Background location: used only for optional live driver tracking after the user enables background sharing and grants the required system permission.
- Disclosure and consent: the app shows an in-app disclosure before the system permission prompt for location access.
- User control: users can decline location permissions, disable live sharing, or turn off background sharing, although some operational features may be limited without location access.
5. Camera, photos, and OCR
DriverApp may access the camera or photo library so users can capture or select job slip images. Those images may be uploaded to backend storage for job processing. Text may also be extracted from the image on-device using OCR to help fill in job details such as container number, crane, row location, size, or weight.
6. When and with whom we share data
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data. We share data only as needed to operate DriverApp for legitimate business and technical purposes.
- Your organization and authorized operations staff: to manage dispatch, jobs, fleet visibility, and driver operations.
- Backend and storage service providers: to authenticate users, store job and tracking records, and store uploaded files.
- Real-time communication providers: to deliver live updates and event notifications needed by the app.
- Support service providers: if you open the in-app support chat, information you submit may be processed by the support provider to respond to your request.
- Legal or compliance recipients: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
7. Third-party services used by the app
Based on the current app implementation, DriverApp may rely on third party or hosted infrastructure for the following functions:
- Authentication and application API services hosted under the gsentry.info domain.
- File upload and storage services hosted under logifortech.com and Google Cloud Storage.
- Real-time event delivery through Pusher.
- Optional in-app support chat through Tawk.
These providers may process personal or sensitive data on our behalf only to support DriverApp’s functionality.
8. Data retention
We retain data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, support operational recordkeeping, troubleshoot problems, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
- Session data and queued offline work may remain on the device until the user signs out, clears the app, or the data is overwritten.
- Backend job, image, and location-tracking records may be retained by the operating organization according to its operational, contractual, and legal retention requirements.
- If a user requests deletion, some information may be retained where necessary for lawful business records, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
9. Data deletion and account requests
DriverApp is generally provided to users by an organization or fleet operator rather than through self-service public account creation. Requests to access, correct, export, or delete account-related data should be sent through the support mechanism below or to the organization that issued the user’s account credentials.
Users can remove locally stored session data from the app by signing out. Additional backend deletion may depend on legal or operational obligations of the organization controlling the account.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal and sensitive user data. Based on the current app implementation, data is transmitted over HTTPS-enabled network endpoints and access to app functions is tied to authenticated sessions. No security method can guarantee absolute protection, and users should also help protect their credentials and devices.
11. Children
DriverApp is not directed to children and is intended for authorized operational or business users. If you believe a child has provided personal information through DriverApp, contact us so we can review and address the issue.
12. International use
DriverApp services may be operated in multiple jurisdictions. By using the app, users understand that their information may be processed in countries other than the country where they are located, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards where required.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or operational practices. The updated version will be posted at the same policy URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
